Gijon, Spain
On our recent trip to Spain, we spent a day in Gijon, only a 30 minute bus ride from Aviles.
Gijon is right on the sea and just like Aviles, it's packed with charm.

One really interesting thing about all the cities we saw is that there is a new part of the city, and an old part. Unlike in the U.S., Europeans don't demolish old buildings to make way for the new; they exist in concert. Here's a view of a street leading to the old section of Gijon.
