OMG WTF is Right!

I ordered soap from my buddy, Sharon, at Sweet Repose -HERE-.  Most normal people use bubble wrap or paper to pack things for the mail . . . . not Sharon!!!

That's right.  A doll torso.  And by the way, the creepy baby doll next to it is a nightlight and yes, this is from Sharon, also.

My Artist Friends

I just bought some cool stuff from my buddy Sharon Wilson at Sweet Repose for Halloween. Took some pics of her goodies in the booth with a phone camera and I sure hope I can get them off. In the meantime, check out the "mini me" cracked in the head she snuck in with my package - yeah!! As soon as I put her stuff in my booth, I was getting "oooohhhhs" and "ahhhhhhs", so I doubt they will be there when I get back from Spain.

And I had my friend Andrea Ring over at Amuck make a ring for my trip. Andrea and her husband, Bryan, design fabulous jewelry using mainly cold connections, metals, and discarded street signs. The background for my skull is of course, an old street sign. Love it.

Spooky Halloween Soaps

What a great surprise awaited me on my porch this morning! I had missed the delivery late yesterday of this fabulous batch of spooky Halloween soap from my friend Sharon over at Sweet Repose.

I didn't waste any time getting it into the booth. Check out the skulls, spider, and centipede. How fun! I love Sharon's amazing imagination and she and I are kindred spirits in our love for all that is rusty, tarnished, chipped, and crusty. Needless to say, she has fabulous taste!!!!

Georgia Peach

I started out with a few scents of Sharon's fabulous hand-poured soap, made at the Pink Chateau in Muscatine, Iowa.

But my collection is expanding and now includes Georgia Peach, Vanilla Lavender, and Brown Sugar Fig. I sold some Georgia Peach before I could even get it on the shelf.

And the original scents that include giant lavender chunks, tangy citrus-tinged Love Spell, and French lilac are flying off the shelves.

And I had the chance to see some homes this weekend that reminded me how much I enjoy others' design styles. Check out this garden!

I love concrete birdbaths.

And that was just the outside. The inside was full of wonderful pieces.

Chippy brass bed.

And whimsical light fixtures in every room.

I would love to turn an antique table or dresser into a functional vanity for the bathroom.

Some would call it dated, I call it classic.

Signed photo of Truman.

A white wall and simple silhouette are the perfect backdrop to the red shutters.

I spent much of the weekend on the patio repainting an antique dresser. Pictures coming soon.
