Cavallini Gift Papers

Sister's Garden and Bloom in Kalona, Iowa carries these wonderful Cavallini gift papers.  I picked up this skeletal system chart there a few weeks ago and with the frame from Michael's I now have a great piece of wall art for under $20!!!  (And the gorgeous antique sconce is from Sister's too!)

I'm a Little Teapot

When I was in Iowa last month, I picked up this adorable, tarnished, well loved teapot from Sister's Garden in my buddy, Brandon's, space.  The hinge in the lid lost it's pin and although firmly attached, it makes it kind of wonky.  So naturally, I fell in love with it.  I got a custom order for a teapot recently, and after explaining the wonky issue to my customer and sending her photos of other options, she landed on this sweet teapot, too.  So nice to create for someone who appreciates a little imperfection just like I do.  I gravitate to it.  I prefer it.

This little teapot is going into a dining room in Berkeley, California.  I used a nice chunky vintage rhinestone brooch for the centerpiece.

I can see why my customer fell in love with it, look at the details in the silver plate.

Antique Sconce!

I found this wonderful antique sconce at Sisters Garden and Bloom in Kalona, Iowa a couple of weeks ago.  I had it rewired and my electrician came today and put it in my half bath.  I love it!!

One of the old bulbs wasn't working, so I put in a regular chandelier bulb.  I'm going to look around this week for one to match the old ones.

Antiquing in Iowa

I tagged along to Iowa on my husband's business trip last weekend.  I've been to Sister's Garden and Bloom in Kalona before and loved it.  Just a really laid back environment, great staff, and a rustic, chipped, imperfect bunch of fabulous stuff.

Follow your nose upstairs to A Wild Thing - Sharon Wilson's wonderful hand poured soaps.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon Woline and seeing his awesome designs up close and personal.  I went home with a few fun things in a post coming soon.

I loved this dresser with antler pulls.

What a great idea to hang plates - wonky wire.  Love it.
