First Fridays

It's STILL snowing here in KC, but my friend, Karen, and I ventured out anyway for First Friday.  It was cold moving from shop to shop, but that meant it wasn't slam packed in the West Bottoms like it normally would have been.  I only took a few pics.  These first couple are from Stuffology - they had some interesting things, most of it in horrible condition and the prices were crazy high.

Next, on to Liberty Bell, one of my faves.  This particular vendor has some amazing things.

The chain link things are actually lamps.

Again, lamps made out of recycled industrial components.

I loved the giant silver cup.

A well-used sled from simpler times.

Perfectly beat up concrete statue.

This pic is from Good Ju Ju.  Too much painted furniture for me, but this rustic table was very fun.  I picked up some do dads today for the mosaics including lots of beads and some much needed pink and orange dishes.

West Bottoms

I met my new friend Craig down at the West Bottoms today and we hit Rag and Bone, Nook and Cranny, and I did a quick run-through of Liberty Bell.  Scored some cool stuff that I will post later, but here are some of the cool things we saw:

Rage and Bone

This cabinet had a tag on it explaining that it had belonged to an artist who died in a car wreck.

Nook and Cranny

Why did I not buy this lamp?  It is awesome.  Look at that globe shade.

Liberty Bell.  I found an awesome watering can begging for mosaic, two stamp pad tins, and a metal goat.  Dig.

The Cowtown Mallroom II and Other Adventures

A return trip to The Cowtown Mallroom was inevitable. Would this old canvas merchandise cart from The Jones Store make a great "hutch" or what? Only in my house, I suppose.

An insulator that elle visits when we go the Mallroom.

A tree made of melted records.

And just like last time, good people watching. Thanks to Kevin for being a good sport and letting me take his pic.

Then it was off to Hyde Park Antiques on Troost for more great stuff.

I dug the chalk kewpie in the background but I like them with more muted color than this one for my personal collection.

This vanity would be fun in French grey.

For the foyer, maybe?

Then down to The West Bottoms. This area of KC used to be full of stock yards.

But now it's home to some cool antique places like Liberty Bell and Good Juju.

Most of these places are only open the first weekend of the month but many are offering extended hours in December.
