My grandmother and aunt had these exact glasses when I was growing up and my aunt drank Dr. Pepper out of them.  I used to love to watch her put her makeup on and smoke cigarettes.

New Additions

I added a few more goodies at the Mission Road Antique Mall this week including this cute black table and plaster bust with real human hair.

This old flower cart is just the right amount of distressed and chippy.

Heading out Monday for more treasures to be added to the space soon.

Eureka!

We took a Mother's Day trip for the weekend to beautiful, Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  I had been hearing about this wonderful town for years and it was fun to finally experience it.

This woman had a museum in town that featured her frog collection.  She got hooked at 5 years old when she got one out of a gumball machine.  Today, the bulk of her collection is packed up, but she and her husband were kind enough to show us the great stuff still on display.  What a wonderful couple.

So many cute little buildings surrounded by stone and fabulous gardens.

These were so cool!!!  Some sort of old hardware displays, maybe?

MTV and a Few More Uncommon Objects

MTV came over today to interview Jason about his work on Avengers vs. X-Men.  The first thing Denise commented on was my new crocheted skull, Amadeus, from Dear Bitsy on Etsy!

Denise and the team talked to Jason all over the house and then they went to Elite Comics and Oklahoma Joe's for more shooting.

I picked up the reflective "LEFT" street sign at Uncommon Objects on South Congress in Austin!  And had 9 boots when I went to Austin and now only have 3 left.  I love doing them and will order up some more forms so I can get started soon.

Uncommon Objects and Other Oddities

I'm back from Austin and although I was busy selling my mosaics at the Country Living Fair, I did manage to make a trip to Uncommon Objects.  I picked up a great headless statue and the funky silver head.

 And what a great surprise to arrive home and discover that my crocheted skull from Dear Bitsy (found HERE) had arrived.  Introducing . . . Amadeus!

Doesn't he look so stately next to the Martin Family Mortuary?  I brought the Mortuary to Austin and it was a hit, but since no one bought it, it will be staying with me for awhile.

Got the tiny bottles and bird card holder above from Uncommon Objects and the great flat shoe forms below from the fair.

Can't wait for my next visit to Austin - what a fabulous town!
