Aviles, Aviles, Aviles!

A few more pics of some sights around Aviles. Walking around the other night, I noticed that just about every other store front was a bar or restaurant and all so charming!

We haven't seen many free-standing homes - this was incredible.

I found an antiques shop! The woman who owned it didn't know a lick of English and my Spanish sucks, but I did manage to pick up a few small things.

Yesterday, the Mayor of Aviles greeted us in the State Room and presented us with books about Pedro Menedez de Aviles, the man who founded St. Augustine, Florida. This town has a very rich culture of art and education.

How cool would it be to live in one of these little flats above the street?

Jason and I strolled through a fabulous park in the middle of town. Breathtaking.

No dogs in just this one section.

This one is for sale! A fixer, perhaps, but can you imagine the possibilities?!
